Tiger Lounge Go-Go Bar

This is the lovely sticker-covered toilet at the Tiger Lounge Go-Go Bar located near Georgetown in Seattle.

The Tiger Lounge is located at 412 S. Orcas Street, between the First Avenue South strip and Georgetown (near the Circus School, if you know where that is.)

They serve coffee and martini's and have live music several nights a week, often with burlesque, karaoke or open mic.

There is a full bar and on hot summer evenings, the party spills out to the patio outside.  It's a place for hipsters and scenesters and, as you can see, has a sticker-covered toilet for all your bathroom needs.

Pissing Contest Art Show by Troy Gua

Troy Gua: Pissing Contest
The Living Room, 1355 E. Olive Way, Seattle, WA

Opening reception: December 9, 2010, 6-9pm
Dates: December 9, 2010 - January 9, 2011

Info:

(Yes, that is an art history book drowned in a vitrine of radiant piss on your coffee table…. )

Troy Gua's new works installed at The Living Room compete with a pantheon of artists and their iconic efforts as he tackles the politics of celebrity and art history while taking the piss out of the same.  From Manneken Pis to Ruscha, Gua's appropriating and remixing of canonical art references subsumes (or rather, submerges) the canon in a pissing battle royal.

Via Boing Boing comes this lovely powder room papered in old piano rolls.

Not very attractive but certainly economical!

Awesome creepy bathroom

This photographer managed to capture everything that's creepy here in this photo. It looks like a bathroom in an insane asylum. Yikes!

Japanese toilet with note

Japanese toilet #978, originally uploaded by Nemo's great uncle.

With a handy link entitled "How to use a Japanese toilet"

Sent in by my good friend Emmi. She and Mike want a new house with a bathroom just like this.

This is the toilet of an internationally known artist. Can you guess who it belongs to?

Japanese Toilet by TOTO

Japanese Toilet by TOTO, originally uploaded by P F C.

This is of the 'washlet' variety. After you 'go', you can press a button which then releases a nozzle which squirts warm water right where you need it! The first time is a bit disturbing - especially when you don't realise you also need to hit the 'stop' button when you've had enough! - Just think of all the paper that can be saved!

- These toilets are more common in Japan than you think they'll be - even Youth Hostels have them!
